Please pray for my family

Last night my dad got hit by a truck. He was stepping out onto a busy street as a truck was driving past. Thankfully he fell backwards or he would most likely not be alive. However, his foot was actually run over. It's shattered. Every bone is broken and shifted. Because my dad is 79years old and on blood thinners the doctors opted against surgery, instead, they have set it the best they can non invasively.
I'm asking for your prayers. I believe God is good; He can do anything. I specifically ask that you would pray that my dad heals properly, that my mom can get physical support while caring for dad (they are in Michigan), and most importantly, that God would meet my dad through this experience.

Thanks,
Heidi

P.S. I'm fighting everything in me that wants to just breakdown and fall apart. Please, Jesus, help me to trust you! Pressed but not crushed...right? 2Cor 4:8

Heidi, thanks for being vulnerable and using your blog to share this situation and how you are doing. As are the others, I have and will be praying for you, your Dad, and your family. Please let us know if you and Jake need help with anything practical.

Thank you all for your support and prayers. I talked to my mom last night and she said my dad's doctor is now suggesting tapering his blood thinner, so that they can open his foot up for repair. My mom is undecided; it's risky.

P.S. God's teaching me a lot about trusting regardless of how I'm feeling, for that, I'm thankful.

I talked to my dad yesterday! He's out of the hospital. He's pretty doped up, but he actually laughed a little. His many of his ribs are cracked (which I didn't know, but I wondered how his getting hit impacted the rest of his body) and he won't be able to put pressure on his foot for at least 10 weeks (which I suspected). Yes, he's a mess, but my goodness, I can't tell you how good it feels to know he's going to be o.k.! Little by little I'm learning to breathe again. Thank you Jesus for loving my family.
