Which Chinese Element are you?
My friend Heidi H. http://heidifiles.blogspot.com/ sent me this check list quiz after an interesting conversation we had last weekend. I thought some of you may want to find out which one you are. Click on the picture at the top to the check columns to see what it says about your element. I'd like to think that I’m water…although when I checked the columns truthfully I was fire by 50%! If you have a blog that I read than I have already pondered which element you are; If you want to know which element I had you pegged as, let me know.
Here was mine:
"The fire element appears in angular designs with sharp edges and points as well as in structural features like fireplaces and barbeques. Buildings in the fire shape excite the mind and emotions and are good places to generate ideas. Many libraries and churches have these shapes.
Fire people are usually willowy with bright eyes, big smiles, and reddish coloring on the neck and chest. They are charming, fun, mischievous, easily excitable, and change emotional states rapidly. They love change, bright colors, and environments that stimulate.
The colors of fire are red and orange as well as pastel pink, purple, and peach, the direction is south, and the organs are the heart, eyes, and hands. Fun and variety are the values associated with fire."

P.S. Being fire’s not SO bad…as a kid my sister and I used to love setting them, but, I need to come to terms with how destructive fire can be before embracing it.

Ooh, goody you did a post on the topic. Here's my result:
Fire- 28 %
Wood- 28 %
Water- 21 %

I guess I am mostly fire too...hmm....but I feel like I'm more like water. Although...I am a bit of a pyromaniac.

Now after I read the descriptions maybe I see myself more like earth too...ahhh identity crisis...haha.. What did you think I was going to be Miss Heidi?

Tanya, I was thinking that you would be Earth; I suppose it WAS your second one!
Peter, I actually had you down as water! I know this is a bit strange, but I photocopied my answers before any of you responded so that I would remember what I picked for everybody! Gotta love office work!

Darn. Based on the descriptions, I kind of thought Earth worked better, which I am second in, in any case. The fire description works pretty well, too, though in many ways.

P.S. I must say that some of the descriptions are rather weird i.e. "Water," and not consistent with one another in discussing both body type and characteristics.

Neil,
I agree some of the characteristics don't mesh well with the physical descriptions. A bit of the broad stroke phenomenon.
I was a little surprised that Wood was the lowest of your elements; I was WAY OFF on my guess! Lots of fire folk in these parts.
A NOTE I SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED BEFORE POSTING THE QUIZ: If it's hard to take the quiz knowing which traits belong to which category I suggest printing the quiz off and having somebody read traits from random categories. OR If you really want to go the extra mile, you can cut the traits out to sort them into a pile of yes's and no's.

Alright- here is another test- better set-up. I think part of the issue is that we were conceptualizing the elements differently that classical Chinese thought:
