Medieval Personality Test

Friends, Tanya gave me this link that tells you what medieval personality best suits you. Try it! http://www.cmi-lmi.com/kingdomality.html
I was sure I would be a Jester, but I kept getting "Benevolent Ruler" Some attributes were nice: Idealist social dreamer, perceptive of woes of others, creatively persuasive...yah-dah...yah-dah....
Then WHAM...unrealistically sentimental, impulsive, and deviously manipulative! Gasp, gulp!
I don’t want to be a “Benevolent Ruler” I want to cleverly mock benevolent rulers, besides, I know that I would have made a MUCH better Jester. Off to console myself by listening to the Main Ingredient's '72 classic, "Everybody Plays the Fool".
Before I go, one of my favorite quotes about Jesters:
“We have all seen how an appropriate and well-timed joke can sometimes influence even grim tyrants. . . . The most violent tyrants put up with their clowns and fools, though these often made them the butt of open insults.”
Desiderius Erasmus, In Praise of Folly
[Quoted in B K Otto, Fools Are Everywhere]
P.S. The photo was from a website called www.mythinglinks.org. Can't vouch for their website, but I loved the picture!

Shepherd:
On the positive side, shepherds can be empathetic, caring, understanding, practical, and realistic.
On the negative side you may be manipulative, close-minded, and sentimentally rigid.
Ouch! Why don't they put the negative traits first? :)

I know what you mean Neil! The positive ones seem fitting. I would add "resourseful" to the list.

Heidi! I miss you so much! I feel like I haven't seen you in forever. I'm sorry to hear that you're not a jester, but I think you'd make a superb Benevolent Ruler.
I'm a shepherd and I gotta agree with Neil, ouch those negatives hurt!

Claire I miss you too! Can I say you would make a delightful shepherdess? I'm still not sold on “Benevolent Ruler”. Thankfully, after much answer tweaking I got “Minstrel”. Yep, I’m thinking that’s more like it.

I'm a Dreamer Minstrel...
On the positive side, you are spontaneous, charismatic, idealistic and empathic. On the negative side, you may be a sentimental dreamer who is emotionally impractical.
hmm...those negatives are a little hard to swallow and i'm not sure i'd be a very successful dreamer minstrel (i'm a little too logical/realistic). maybe i should follow your lead, heidi, and keep taking the test until i get a more appealing position :)

Meg, I had to work long and hard to get your title...what an honor! But if you want to rule us, I'll be you.

Heidi, I got dreamer minstrel the first time. I guess it fits fairly well. I love you and miss you! Write soon!!

Heidi-
I just took it again and I too came up as a Benevolent Ruler. (I think that is what I was when I took it before.)
According to this I....
am the idealistic social dreamer.
am exceptionally perceptive about the woes and needs of humankind.
am creatively persuasive, charismatic and ideologically concerned.
am unrealistically sentimental, scattered and impulsive, as well as deviously manipulative.
These are mostly true of me, for better or worse.
(Oh how I love personality tests!)

I am shepherd but I think this test was flawed. Naturally, I'm a little more creative and free-flow so I NEED to work in an environment that is more structured. That is why I answered the questions that turned me into a shepherd. In reality, I think I am the dreamer minstrel.

Tanya we’re the same! Well, I say we sure have a nice shepherd/minstrel kingdom. Hum (a look of benevolent concern) I’m worried the shepherds and minstrels will tire themselves out herding sheep and flouncing about the kingdom with mandolins. I suggest, we allow the minstrels to play for the sheep thrice a fortnight …sheep-sitting really. That way, shepherds can have a break now and again. And, I would be more than ecstatic to offer myself as a minstrel fill-in. I have a feeling Laura wouldn’t mind joining me...after all it tis her true calling. Jacob has his heart set on being the barrel boy, but I told him he’d have to take the test to see what suits him best. I have no problem with being married to a barrel boy…quite charming actually.

So did you find out if you are for sure married to a "barrel boy"?
Posted by: Tanya at October 24, 2006 09:24 PM
Jacob got Benevolent Ruler too! I thought that was kinda neat, although I did like the barrel boy idea.

Well now you have a Pirate boy too! :)

Mona Lisa, glad that revelry was able to retrieve your smile! Savvy pirates, merry hobbits, jelly fish…hurray! I will say, I felt like a sell-out going ethereal when I had every intention of going as a bloody freedom fighter (dang the allure of real feather wings)!
